Client: A global facility services company.
Solution: Online User's Guide
Objective: The client wanted to implement
high-level training and just-in-time resources to help its employees
make the most effective use of a new company intranet.
To meet this need, Fredrickson developed an online
User's Guide that consisted of three parts: FAQs, a glossary of terms,
and a high-level tutorial on how to use the intranet.
Development tools: Macromedia® Dreamweaver®,
Adobe® PhotoShop®, JavaScript, DHTML, and Cascading Style Sheets
(CSS).
Highlights: Because of technology constraints,
animation could not be used to engage the reader. Instead, Fredrickson
used DHTML to create interactivity through rollovers and pop-up images
and text. This approach also allowed users to review a great deal of
content without scrolling or clicking.
